Akku-Craft: Sustainable · Modular · Decentralized

Welcome to the core documentation of Akku-Craft. We are building a future where battery systems are no longer disposable black boxes — our mission is to reduce electronic waste through a modular battery ecosystem with decentralized monitoring.

Instead of discarding an entire battery pack because a single cell fails, Akku-Craft enables repair, scalability, and granular control over every component.

The Vision

The current battery industry is driven by planned obsolescence and proprietary designs. Akku-Craft breaks this cycle through three core pillars:

  1. Sustainable — Designed for repairability and long service life.
  2. Modular — Scale capacity by adding units, not by redesigning the system.
  3. Decentralized — Intelligence is distributed across the system for improved safety and reliability.

How It Works

Akku-Craft is a synergy of three main domains:

  • Hardware (Schematics): Circuit logic and power distribution.
  • Mechanics (3D Models): The housing that keeps everything safe and portable.
  • Firmware (ArduinoBMS): The brain that monitors voltage, current, and temperature to ensure safe operation.

The Team

  • Timon — Lead Developer (C++ / BMS Logic)
  • Fabian — Hardware Engineering & Prototyping
  • Henry — Circuit Design, 3D Modeling & GitHub Management

Getting Started

We recommend exploring the documentation in this order:

  1. Start with the Schematics to understand the electrical foundation.
  2. Move on to the Mechanical Design to see how the physical build comes together.
  3. Finish with the Firmware to understand the BMS logic.
